This seems pretty subjective to me – they polled people for their opinions? It would be more valid if they actually compared 1500 men and 1500 women writer’s works, I would think.

Yeah, I’m not sure this is exactly a scientific analysis. But it was kind of fun. The “better” question aside, it’s pretty accurate in showing the difference in writing styles.
